The Block Project

The whole Looped Yarn Works family is joining together to get ready for the Metro Yarn Crawl, and each of us is creating a crochet or knit block (12 inches by 12 inches) to showcase the beautiful new yarn by Quince and Co that is exclusively carried by the store.  I'll be posting pictures of all the squares as we get closer to the start of the crawl and letting you know how you can get the patterns if you are not local.

Still working up some other new spring patterns, but it's just too soon to do a reveal ;-)  But, right now, the spring cleaning fever has hit me, and the Goodwill truck is coming to my building on April 27th, so I've got lots of cleaning and organizing to do by then!  My treat will be to get to organize my stash, but I don't get to play with yarn til I get all the paperwork in order, so...

The Linked (Looped) Double Crochet Stitch

Welcome April!  So far, it's been colder here than it was in March, but no complaints as long as it stays sunny.  And I am definitely looking at spring as being a new beginning and yet another chance to get back on track (or at least not wobble off of it!)

Much has been going on behind the scenes.  I've got a new video posted on how to make the linked (looped) double crochet stitch.  It's a fun alternative to just doing a regular single or double crochet stitch since it looks a little like both.

Hope you'll check out my other videos on YouTube at www.youtube.com/manycreativegifts.  I'm finishing up some projects and starting my spring cleaning (which I don't think really has ended since last spring!)  But more posts on that coming soon!

Blog Hop

So, we've gone from swapping to hopping!!  Here, you can really see an amazing collection of craft blogs:

And of course I'm participating (hey, I figured I'd milk the cassette tape crocheting for all it's worth ;-)

Other than that, I'm still in "fall cleaning" mode -- not sure why I'm not a believer in spring cleaning, probably because I'm so excited that the weather is getting nice that I don't want to be trapped inside.  But, by the fall, it's time to get serious about cleaning up the inside, where I'll be trapped all winter :-(  I guess you can tell I'm not a fan of cold weather, though this year, I'm really going to try to find some outdoor activity that I can use to make the best of it.

Ok, happy blog hopping!
